The Hoka Rincon 4 is Hoka's basic everyday running shoe. Past versions of the trainer had a cult following for the shoe's lightweight and fun ride. We found the 4 to be a decent shoe for runs up to 30 minutes, but nowhere near as comfortable, cushioned, supportive or peppy as standard everyday running shoes. If you're on a budget of $130 or lower, we'd suggest the $130 Adidas Adizero SL2 over this—the Adidas is more fun, more comfortable and has a faster ride from the race foam in the midsole. If you're looking for comfort on a budget, consider the $120 Saucony Surge 3 (often on sale for $60). And for versatility in a fun package, get the New Balance Propel v5. Hoka has many great running shoes in their lineup, but this is not one of them.
