The Nike Pegasus 41 is an everyday running shoe for versatility and durability. As the 41st iteration in the Pegasus lineup, this shoe carries forward a lineage of no-nonsense performance. The Pegasus line stands for durability, versatility and reliability—that's all still true here, but the ride of the shoe is just so pathetic compared to everything else on the market. The foam is flat and unresponsive, the forefoot is deceivingly low to the ground while the heel is bulbous and chunky (thanks to the 10mm drop) and the experience on foot is uninspiring and uncomfortable for any runs longer than an hour. Unless you like the look of this shoe or are a Nike fan, we do not recommend the Pegasus 41. There are much better options at the $140 price point. If you want a traditional feel with a firm but energetic ride, check out the Brooks Hyperion 2. If you want an everyday running shoe from Nike, get the Vomero 17 for a soft, comfortable ride or the Structure 25 for a sturdy workhorse. The Pegasus 41 is overall a disappointing shoe. Nike, please do better next time.
