The Deviate Nitro 2 is one of the most versatile shoes we've tested over the past year. It has a soft and bouncy ride that holds up just as well for 2 hour long runs and hikes through the Carolina mountains. We put this through the serious paces during testing (see note on hiking in previous sentence) and the shoe responded well to everything we threw at it—a big part of its multi-hyphenate capability comes from the PumaGrip outsole which is grippy and durable for all weather and terrain. If you're looking for a fun running shoe that can do it all, this is your ticket. Two watchouts though: the fit is narrow and the ride can be unstable. See alternatives below for more options.
