The Salomon S-Lab Spectur is a racing shoe designed not for elite athletes but for us workaday hobby joggers who also deserve the best. After all, it's us, not the elites, who actually have to pay for these products. Recognizing a gap in the market for a recreational runner racing shoe, Salomon designed the S/Lab Spectur from the ground up to provide more comfort, support and durability for athletes spending more time on feet during a race. In our testing, we've found the shoe to be a comforable and stable option at home in the 8 minute pace range - with a good bit of pep and the classic streamlined racing feel you might enjoy from a Nike Vaporfly. Runners who want the lightest racing shoe or who don't think they need stability should check out other options. But for those of us for whom stability and comfort help breed confidence on race day, the S/Lab Spectur is a great choice to have on foot for grinding out the final 6.2.
